Reaching another 100 students

On Saturday the 3rd of September, another class of mine, Create your own stickers on Cricut Joy and Procreate, reached a 100 students. This class was published on the 8th of July so it was nice to have such a milestone in less than 2 months.

Last week, I also finally finished another cocktail illustration that is now uploaded on Redbubble. Please have a check. Thanks!

This week, I’ll be finishing up a font set for a client and will be on holiday next week. Autumn is also almost here in Helsinki. Have a great week to you all and Happy September!

Class Give-aways

Class Give-aways

I was so happy to wake up this morning to know that my class on Monthly Bullet Journaling which was published in March has reached a 100 students. This is an achievement for me as a new teacher on Skillshare.

This weekend I created some give-aways for my next class on Making Die Cut Kawaii Snacks Stickers on Cricut Joy and Procreate. I got some cute materials from the craft store and just started making these cute pairs of earrings. I really enjoyed the process, although, working with small objects can be challenging at times. But I’m happy with how they turned out. I just love every one of them!

Do you want me to send you a pair of Kawaii earrings? Join me in my next class!

July – what a July!

July – what a July!

After returning from a family trip in Canada, I was basically just preparing three classes on Skillshare. It was tough. I thought that this is it. I will never make another class again! Although, I always think such things every time I’m in the process of making a class… 🙂

So I was really happy to have finished the month of July with three classes on Skillshare. Here they are:

In the midst of this, I took a week off and went to Venice. It was in Venice when I received the news from Skillshare that my sticker class was given an award as an outstanding class. I was really really happy to be acknowledged this way. I felt my effort was worth it.

Coming home from holiday, I put together a Venice scrapbook and over the weekend, I designed 18 Kawaii food stickers that I will be printing out, cutting away and selling soon. I’m so excited and I really think they are so cute. But also, this is in preparation for another class on Skillshare that I will publish in September. I’m so excited!

Coming in September

So now I’m asking, “Is the summer getting over?” I can feel the air is getting cooler and of course, August is here. And in this first day of August, new ideas coming my way. I’ll let you know soon. Have a wonderful August and thank you for journeying with me!

Almost two weeks ago, I published a class on Skillshare on Creating stickers on Cricut Joy and Procreate. It was chosen as an outstanding class on Skillshare and I’m very happy to be acknowledged this way. My class has now 20 students. I’m not famous so I think it is a good number. 🙂

Please have a check of the class here. This is really a good class when you are starting out with your Cricut Joy as I explained the process step by step. See you there!

Design cutting on Cricut Joy

Design cutting on Cricut Joy

Today, I decided to stay home on this very beautiful sunny day in Helsinki and try cutting on my Cricut Joy. First,I designed a Cherry Blossom and have them cut on a Deluxe Paper. I’m happy how they turned out!

Next, I tried card making with my own lettering. This one is really fun and it gives a lot of possibilities. I’m happy with it too!

I’m really happy with my Cricut Joy. I’m excited to create more projects. The important thing I learned when using it, is to really understand why this step and that step need to be done, not just following instructions.

What projects have you created with your Cricut Joy? Let me know!

From a simple illustration to a sticker

From a simple illustration to a sticker

I remember at some point I was drawing on an A4 label paper, then cutting these drawings into squares to make easy stickers. Later it became a bit more complicated with digital illustrations, printing process and cutting by hand. I was a bit hesitant to buy any cutting machine. I heard some are really having a hard time with these machines. It takes time and a lot of experimenting to be able to make stickers with them. But I did give in and bought the Cricut Joy. Why Cricut Joy? I have a small working space so the size of the Cricut Joy just works well for me. I’m not also a technical person so I didn’t want to spend more money on a product that I probably end up not using.

But I’m getting the hang of it. In fact, it is so fun, addicting and somehow, relaxing. The important point in using this machine is to really understand each process, not just simply following the step by step procedures. Once I understood why a process must be done, I was able to create my own workflow. In just two weeks, I have somehow mastered the process. Although, I have to say that it is indeed a lot of experimenting to get it right. But I got there while learning through my mistakes on the way. I can’t wait to finally be able to sell physical stickers, not just printable ones.

Creating stickers

Creating stickers

I’m very excited to start working on my next Skillshare class on designing a Weekly Spread template on Procreate. For this class, I’ve created stickers for students to get started with designing their projects. I really enjoy creating these stickers. I hope you will look forward to the class. Meanwhile if you haven’t already, please check out my previous class on how to design your own Monthly Spread template using Procreate here. Have a great week!

I finally bought it!

I finally bought it!

I took the plunge and finally bought a Cricut Joy! My greatest fear was my weakness in following instructions. I don’t want overly technical stuff and my brain shuts when I hear numbers. I decided to get the Cricut Joy because what if I don’t get to use it. But here I am making the most of it and I’m really enjoying it. I’m quite surprise myself! 🙂

My first try!
My second try!
And now let’s try a more complicated design!

The Cricut Joy doesn’t do print and cut. So there is a hack that I learned to go around it, realising my mistakes along the way. But getting there and happy about it. Can’t wait to finally start selling my sticker designs!

Do you have a sticker cutting machine? What do you use it for? Are you happy about it?
